Excuse Me Mister I'm new here never been here I don't know here. Which way should I go? I don't know you. But you look pretty business-like all dressed up in your tailored clothes Bet you have a wife Who gets real jealous when you talk to hippie girls on city streets Are you tired of life? Well I'm just like you nauseated with too much anxiety. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Don't leave me you might need me. I might need you. Don't you want to? We could find a place that's dark and hot. Don't run. Don't run. Don't run. I didn't mean to scare you. You scared me when you looked that way. I misconstrued your thoughts. You're looking and I'm looking sun is setting shops are closing I must find a place to go. Streets begin their breathing. I am new here. Never been here. I don't know here. Which way should I go? Excuse me Mister. Don't lose me Mister. How did I get here? I don't know any more then you. Another hour, another place, another time and I will be brand new. Brand new. Brand new. This place is new. I've never been here. Air is thick here. Pretty girls like me get sick here. You've got money, I've got charm. Let's take a train to Paradise. I know that dinner's on the table And the kids are waiting for you Please forgive me when I met you I saw boredom in your eyes Excuse Me Mister. Don't lose me Mister. It's getting late let's run away. Let's go and find another place. I'm just like you. You're just like me. We're both searching. We're both hiding. Please don't leave me. You might need me. I've got something you can feed me. Air is thick here, we're getting sick here. Excuse me Mister, don't lose me Mister. I bet you're tired. I bet you're tired. I bet you're tired of the same thing, I'm the same way. Let's arrange things. Run away. Another hour. Another time. Another place. Another way. You don't know me but you are me. Excuse me Mister. Don't lose me Mister. I'm so new here I don't know here Let's both leave here we don't need here Air is thick here getting sick Bet you're bored and can not fix here Hold on Mister. Don't run Mister. You might need me. Please stay Mister. Sun is setting. No regretting. I'm forgetting where I am.

I wasn't always like this Cloaked in despairing thoughts My mind became a chamber My wings began to rot Discoloration set in The scene began to fade My own distorted images Came a galloping my way But there was a time When I was good Now I walk these nights For something that I lost Then came the day I met her And with magik in her belt She swallowed both of us That's when I killed myself My mind became invaded Her song entrapped my heart My soul became elated And my body fell apart But there was a time When I was good Now I walk these nights For something that I lost Oh there was a time When I was good Now I walk these nights For something that I lost I wasn't always like this I wasn't always like this I wasn't always like this God knows! I wasn't always like this This lullaby I sing for the lost ones This lullaby I sing for the broken This lullaby I couldn't sing when I was good I couldn't sing when I was good I couldn't sing when I was good When I was good! Discoloration set in The scene began to fade My own distorted images Came a galloping my way But there was a time when I was good Oh there was a time when I was good I remember the time when I was good I can think of a time when I was good!

The Silent 03:38
Oh god It's so so quiet here The silence is slipping into my head When monsters are loud They're really quite delightful It's the silent ones that kill you So please do watch out We had a monster ball And they all came out to play They were dressed to the nines In their scary monster ways We had guzzard tea And lizard skin And baby legs and rolled around Merrily and spilled our fluids God it was so fun! At the end of the night We bowed and said "Good Eating!" And they spilled into the night Slithering and creeping I closed my door and hit the lights And sighed into the frightful night The chandeliers were creaking Ah oooh! My little tom's were peeking! Oh God, what's that? Could it be my little black cat? Could it be my shadow playing tricks? Could it be my flighty candlesticks? It's time my body go to bed But who to tend to my dear head? The night will soothe it's deadly ways Into the realm of the insane I lift my covers up And I close my little eyes And I listen to the night With its silent screams and cries I went to sleep and woke to find I was being eaten Which wouldn't be so bad Except I never gave permission Those silent little demons And their silent little ways Its the silent ones that kill you Its the little ones that rage The big ones will hound you The loud ones will pound you But the germs get in you And eat you inside out Inside out Inside out They'll eat you inside out Which wouldn't be so bad Except they eat you Inside out Inside out Inside out They'll eat you inside out Which wouldn't be so bad Except they eat you Inside out Which wouldn't be so bad Except they don't ask for permission They just get inside you And set upon their mission Or better than that They'll get into your veins And seep into your bloodstream Which causes lots of pain Or better than that They'll make you go insane If the little bugger slimes Reach into your brain Or better than that In your soul they'll lurk A place to worship You've become their church Allellujia (x8) Inside out Inside out They'll eat you inside out Which wouldn't be so bad Except they eat you inside out No it wouldn't be so bad Except they eat you inside out Inside out Inside out They'll eat you inside out Which wouldn't be so bad But then they leave you inside out Inside out

Beautiful 03:10
Oooh Stay beautiful Don't squint too hard It causes wrinkles Smile Smile like you mean it Don't talk too fast Maintain your demeanor Laugh But never too loud It's rude to interrupt Mingle with the crowd And please Don't forget your duty You're the hostess use your charm Don't be scared of your beauty I spent lots of money on your private education So don't act so shocked if I have some expectation If I had what you had while I was growing up I would be a different woman so appreciate your luck. You're never too thin You're never too rich You're never too vain As long as you hide it Ooh Your hips are getting heavy Here I got something for you Take one after every meal And dear Don't ever be afraid It ain't easy being perfect But it's easy when you're made And please Don't forget your duty You're a lady use your charm Don't be scared of your beauty Oooh Stay beautiful You're a woman so act like one Don't they teach you that in school? Don't ever show fear And never show shame I've invested too much Better live up to your name If I had what you had while I was growing up I would be a stronger woman so appreciate your luck I spent a lot of money on your private education So what's your excuse? I'm losing my patience Don't talk too fast Don't think too much There's not a lot I ask You've just got to measure up What have you learned so far? Don't speak until I'm through I've invested too much to see nothing come of you You're never too thin You're never too vain You're never too pretty But it takes a little pain Oooh It's really simple I don't ask too much Just stay beautiful

There once was a man named Diego And a girl named Arlene Who lived on a street A beautiful street And I saw them and sang Oooh... Eventually they both got married And they moved on my street They had lots of kids The most beautiful kids And I saw them and sang Oooh... But I try and I try But I can't relate can't relate I can't relate To the way they relate And I try but I'm lost I'll never relate Oh Diego, Arlene I just can't relate Diego wears crisp-collared polos Arlene is a doll The kids are all playing red rover And they just bought a dog Arlene looks nice in canary The kids look like angels asleep I'd like to get inside their psyche But I'm across the street And I try and I try But I can't relate can't relate I can't relate To the way they relate And I try but I'm lost I'll never relate Oh Diego, Arlene I just can't relate Oooh ah! Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Come on now! Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Oooh up up! Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Everybody one more time! Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye Aye I just bought a crisp-collared polo My new dog's a jewel I want the kids to all come over Come swim in my pool I'll build you a pool I'll dig it just for you Diego, Arlene I just bought a crisp-collared polo My new dog's a jewel I want the kids to all come over Come swim in my pool I'll build you a pool I'll dig it just for you Diego, Arlene And your kids too! Diego gets an invitation For his family and his dog They're coming on Sunday for swimming And I'm digging up a hole The family arrives here at noon sharp I show them my pool They ask me "Where is all the water?" I tell them "It's new." But go ahead test the dimensions Everyone get inside I'd like to take your family portrait And don't forget the dog the caterpillar that I rented is waiting Diego, Arlene So I get out my cat And I race to the scene And I grab all the dirt Oh Diego, Arlene I can't relate can't relate Goodbye! I can't relate You must say goodbye I just can't relate And now I sing Oooh...

Swan Song 04:58
Sometimes I sigh The river Can hear me I listen to their dull roar Like L.A. traffic and porn I wanted to be just like them (x3) But my reflection is not me Their whispers are not verbal Sighs release the text The river she lulls me To sleep With her melodies of crowd and pain And pain We are a dying city (x3) Concentrate It passes Quickly Like smeared colors of poison This poison is leaking all over The city Can hear me The river she lulls me To sleep We are a dying city (x3) Concentrate (x10) Crack an egg on your head let the yoke run down (x2) Stab a knife in your back let the blood rush down (x2) Spiders crawling up you back spiders crawling down (x2) Concentrate (x4) Children are crying This city is dying The river is sighing These people are not me I wanted to be them It's not my reflection It's not me (x4) Concentrate (x4) Crack an egg on your head let the yoke run down (x2) Stab a knife in your back let the blood rush down (x2) Spiders crawling up you back spiders crawling down (x2) Concentrate (x4)

Warrior 03:54
You don't have to try and be strong You don't have to hide your fear You've held it together for so long And it's okay to fall apart, to fall apart I don't want a superhuman All I want's an honest friend It really is unfair With me, don't say it's not 'Cause you don't have to pretend [CHORUS] (x2) It's okay to fall apart It is safe to fall apart I will hold your hand until your better It's okay to be angry You have every right to feel It's okay if you want to break down You are safe to do that here [CHORUS] (x4)

Only with you… do I find all my pieces Only with you… do I lose all my senses I…. Wish I could love you I…. Know I don’t love you The way I should Only with you… do I feel myself breaking Only with you… do I feel myself waking I…. wish I could love you I…. know I don’t love you The way I should Don’t (x18) [CHORUS] Don’t lose him my head tells me tells me tells me If I do I am screwed and it’s over over over I know I love you But I’m not so very good inside I don’t love you the way I should and I’m undersized Ah…. Ah… Ah…… Only with you… do I feel myself breaking Only with you… do I feel myself waking I…. wish I could love you I…. know I don’t love you The way I should Don’t (x8) [CHORUS] Ah…. Ah… Ah…… Don’t (x10) Dear you should know I’ve never been the best at anything that isn’t slightly mad I promise many things but many of them I have never had My mother tried to teach me to be gentle playing with my toys But I found pleasure breaking things so never lasted with the boys Excuse me if I curse too much and my mood changes with the light I tend to lose my senses and I’ve crashed a few times in my life I bite my lips and taste the blood and feel awakened once again My silouette has holes in it be careful dear we’re closing in… [CHORUS] Ah… Ah… Ah… Ah… I… Wish I could love you Ah… I… know I don't love you No I don't love you know I don't love you No I don't love you know I don't love you No I don't love you Can’t help but love you No I don't love you Can’t help but love you

We both speak At the same time Again You go first You ask me to I'm not sure [CHORUS] 'Cause you're never ever okay when you tell me you're fine I can see it real clear in your pale pretty eyes You keep saying it don't matter but I know it's a lie There is something we're not saying I don't want to go to bed again not knowing what's up I can always feel your mood when you're not saying enough And you think that I don't notice but we're past all that stuff You go first and I will tell you You go first I don't want to I can't say You won't speak But you're shouting With your eyes [CHORUS] You're right there But you're so far Away We're both here But I miss you I miss you Again

about

In 2011, The Tragic Tantrum released their first album Mirror, Mirror.  With influences from The Dresden Dolls to Danny Elfman this Dark Cabaret band has created an album that is equally as dramatic and atmospheric as their live shows.  Capturing a wide range of sounds, from a single toy xylophone to epic orchestral arrangements, Mirror, Mirror whisks away it’s listeners on a journey.  From driving keys and operatic highs to the subtle whisper of a close friend, Mirror, Mirror is a roller coaster ride of climactic emotional fury to soft, intimate reflection.  Humor, sarcasm and silliness also take their place along the ride, reminding the listener not to take things too seriously.  Although packed with drama and personal revelations, the album also stays true to the quirky and theatrical side of the band.

The Tragic Tantrum has selected their top eleven recordings to be featured on this album.  From their very first song “Excuse Me Mr” to their very recent “When I was Good”  the album chronicles the band’s own journey within the first four years of their career.  From personal insights to sardonic little tales, Mirror, Mirror is sure to usher the listener into a realm where opera, punk, classical, goth and rock co-exist in harmony, creating a deliciously rich playground of passion, drama and dark delight.

Best wishes in all things,
zeph and z0e
